Terms & Conditions

AutoHub Leeds · Walford Road, Leeds LS9 7QT · +44 7990 700028

1. These terms

These terms apply to vehicles bought from AutoHub Leeds (“we”, “us”). Please read them before paying a deposit or completing a purchase. Nothing in these terms removes or reduces your legal rights as a consumer.

2. Our vehicles

Every vehicle we sell is used and will show wear consistent with its age and mileage. Photographs and descriptions on this website are provided in good faith and are intended to give an accurate impression of the vehicle, but they are not a substitute for viewing it yourself.

Any fault, damage or history we are aware of — including insurance write-off categories such as Category S or Category N — is disclosed on the listing and again before purchase. If anything is unclear, ask us before you buy.

Mileage is stated as recorded and, where available, supported by MOT history. We recommend you satisfy yourself as to a vehicle’s mileage and history before purchase.

3. Viewing and test drives

Viewings are by appointment. You are welcome to inspect any vehicle before buying, to test drive it with valid insurance, and to arrange an independent inspection at your own cost. We encourage it.

4. Reservation fee

A reservation fee of £195 holds a vehicle for 48 hours. During that time we take the vehicle off sale and turn away other buyers. The fee pays for that, and is deducted from the purchase price if you go ahead.

The fee is non-refundable if you change your mind or simply do not proceed. By the time that happens we have already done what you paid for: the vehicle has been withdrawn from sale and other interested buyers have been turned away.

It is refunded in full if the vehicle has a fault we had not disclosed, is not as described, is not ready as agreed, or if we cancel the sale. In other words, you do not lose the fee because of something that turns out to be our responsibility.

A reservation does not oblige you to buy, and paying it does not form a contract of sale. If the hold expires without the purchase being completed, the vehicle returns to sale automatically.

5. Warranty

Unless a vehicle is sold as Part Exchange to Clear (see section 6), a car comes with a minimum three-month dealer warranty. The exception is a car whose age and mileage are high: we may give a one-month dealer warranty on that car instead, on the same terms as set out below. Your invoice always says which warranty applies and, for a one-month warranty, quotes the car’s age and mileage. A van or other commercial vehicle comes with a one-month dealer warranty covering the engine and gearbox only. Extended cover is available — ask us for options and pricing.

Making a claim. Contact us as soon as a fault appears and before any work is carried out. Warranty repairs are carried out at our premises on Walford Road. If you cannot bring the vehicle to us, contact us and we will arrange or authorise an alternative garage — work carried out elsewhere without our prior agreement is not covered.

What the warranty does not cover. Routine servicing and consumable or wear-and-tear items, including but not limited to tyres, brake pads and discs, clutches, wiper blades, bulbs, batteries, filters, fluids and bodywork or interior trim. Nor does it cover damage caused by accident, misuse, neglect, modification, continued driving after a fault appears, or failure to service the vehicle as recommended.

Getting the vehicle to us. Except where section 7 applies, transporting the vehicle to our premises for warranty work is your responsibility.

Conditions of cover. Tell us within 7 days of noticing a fault, and stop driving the vehicle if continuing to do so could make the damage worse. The vehicle must be serviced in line with the manufacturer’s schedule, and you should keep the receipts. Cover applies to the original buyer and does not transfer if the vehicle is sold on.

This warranty is offered in addition to your legal rights. It does not replace them.

6. Part Exchange to Clear

Vehicles listed as Part Exchange to Clear are trade-ins offered at a reduced price. They are not prepared to our usual retail standard and are sold as seen, with no dealer warranty. We will point out any faults we are aware of, and we strongly recommend you inspect these vehicles before buying.

Selling a vehicle as seen does not remove your statutory rights if you are buying as a consumer.

7. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

If you buy as a consumer, the law requires that a vehicle is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, taking into account its age, mileage and price. A used car is not expected to be in the condition of a new one, but it must be roadworthy and free from faults that were not disclosed or reasonably obvious.

First 30 days. If the vehicle is faulty, you have the short-term right to reject it and receive a full refund.

30 days to six months. You are entitled to one repair or replacement at our cost. If that is unsuccessful, you may reject the vehicle for a refund, which may be reduced to reflect the use you have had of it. During this period a fault is presumed to have been present when you bought the vehicle unless we can show otherwise.

After six months. You may still claim, but it is for you to show the fault was present at the time of sale. This right lasts up to six years in England and Wales, and five years in Scotland.

These rights apply regardless of anything else in these terms, are separate from and additional to the warranty in section 5, and cannot be signed away. Where anything in these terms conflicts with them, your statutory rights take precedence.

8. Buying at a distance

If you buy a vehicle without visiting us in person — for example agreeing the purchase by phone or online and taking delivery — the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you the right to cancel within 14 days of receiving it, even if there is nothing wrong with it.

To cancel, tell us in writing within that period. You are responsible for returning the vehicle or the cost of its collection. We will refund what you paid within 14 days of getting the vehicle back. We may reduce the refund to reflect any reduction in the vehicle’s value caused by use beyond what is reasonable to check it — broadly, the sort of inspection you could have carried out in a showroom.

This right does not apply where you viewed and collected the vehicle from our premises.

9. If we cannot resolve a complaint

Contact us first — most problems are sorted out quickly. If you are not satisfied with our response, free independent advice is available from Citizens Advice, and disputes can be referred to an alternative dispute resolution scheme or to the courts. Nothing here affects your right to take legal action.

10. Prices, descriptions and errors

We take care to keep listings accurate, but occasionally a price or specification is published in error. Where an error is obvious — for example a price plainly inconsistent with the vehicle’s market value — we are not obliged to sell at the incorrect figure. We will tell you as soon as we notice, and you may either proceed at the corrected price or cancel and receive a full refund of anything paid.

Specification details such as trim level, features and equipment are believed correct but should be confirmed with us before purchase if a particular feature matters to you.

Vehicles remain available to other buyers until a deposit is paid. We may withdraw a vehicle from sale at any time before the contract is completed.

11. Your responsibilities

Before driving a vehicle away you must be correctly insured and the vehicle taxed. We are not responsible for any penalty or loss arising from driving uninsured or untaxed.

Once the vehicle is in your possession, keeping it serviced and roadworthy is your responsibility, including regular checks of oil, coolant, tyres and brakes.

12. Limits on our liability

Where we are responsible for a fault, our liability is limited to repairing or replacing the vehicle, or refunding what you paid for it, as set out in these terms and in law.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from a fault or delay — for example loss of earnings, hire vehicle costs, missed appointments or travel expenses — unless we have agreed to cover them in writing.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

13. Delivery

Where delivery is arranged, we will agree the charge and timescale with you in advance. Please inspect the vehicle on arrival and tell the driver and us immediately about any transport damage.

14. Valuations and part exchange

A valuation given online or over the phone is an estimate based on the information provided. It is subject to physical inspection and may change if the vehicle’s condition, mileage, service history or documentation differ from what was described.

15. Trade and business sales

Where a vehicle is sold to a business or in the course of trade, the Consumer Rights Act does not apply and the vehicle is sold as seen, with no warranty unless agreed in writing.

16. Contact us

If something has gone wrong, contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly. Call +44 7990 700028 or email info@autohubleeds.co.uk.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
